    Speaker Bio:

    Brian O’Neill is Director, Research, Enterprise and Innovation Services at Dublin Institute of Technology and for the three partners of the Technological University for Dublin Alliance (DIT, IT Tallaght and IT Blanchardstown. Prior to that, he was Head of the School of Media at Dublin Institute of Technology where he developed an international profile as a researcher on youth, new media and the internet.

    Presentation Title:

    The Greenway Hub at DIT Grangegorman.

    Presentation Synopsis:

    Dublin Institute of Technology will over the next two years undertake a major relocation of its educational, research and innovation facilities to Grangegorman, a new urban quarter in Dublin’s North Inner City .  When completed, the Grangegorman campus will accommodate over 20,000 students and will include up to 2,000 student residences. The new campus is a unique international innovation hub for the Dublin region, with education, research and health facilities which will co-locate with industry, business incubation and community enterprise. Currently there are 1100 students and staff located on the Grangegorman campus.

    The Greenway Hub, the new research and innovation facility on the campus, will open in April 2016.   Located at the heart of the new campus, the Greenway Hub will offer unique access to research facilities,  innovation supports and an incubation centre for innovative and promising start-up companies. This presentation will give an overview of the award-winning DIT Hothouse programme and its extensive range of spin-out technologies available to industry across Life Sciences, Food, ICT, Software, Industrial Technology, Manufacturing and Clean Technologies.
