Title: Trauma informed working with complex child cases

Synopsis: Trauma informed working in clinics schools and hospitals constitutes specific types of formulation and planning for intervention. We will speak to the development of trauma (psychological models currently integrated in our practice) and formulation in order to create safety and alliance.  Nervous system regulation and narratives in relation to abuse and particularly child sexual abuse will be described. Finally it is important to highlight patterns of post traumatic growth and resilience and we will describe our experiences of ‘what works’ in this complex and expanding area of practice.
