    How your company can benefit from knowledge transfer partnerships with Universities
    Presentation Synopsis:

    Recent developments in national policies and associated research funding represent significant opportunities for companies to leverage wide supports from Universities. Companies that engage in terms of research and development programs avail of significant EI / SFI / H2020 and other supports and can add additional benefits offered by incentives such as the Knowledge Development Box. In addition to research collaboration, companies avail of consultancy services across broad sectors of expertise and avail of state-of-art services and facilities. The pressure on universities to engage with companies and to help them develop and commercialise new ideas has resulted in significant changes in the profiles and activities of Irish universities.

    Speaker Bio:
    John Scanlan is currently the Director of Commercialisation at Maynooth University, leading a technology transfer consortium exploiting university developed technologies. He has broad experience and skills in innovation and commercialisation, IP development and exploitation, strategy, leadership and management. Previously, he was CTO of Straatum a software / hardware supplier to the semiconductor industry, sold to Lam Research in California. He is inventor on 7 granted patents and author of 10 publications. He was a member of the Innovation Taskforce intellectual property group put in place to develop a National IP Policy.
