Dennis Muldoon- ICT Forge

  • Presentation Title:

Internet of Things – Convergence between MRP systems, ERP systems, Big Data Analytics and physical sensors.

    Presentation Synopsis:
Internet of Things and the convergence between enterprise management solutions such as ERP systems, manufacturing requirements planning solutions such as DDMRP, and the physical sensors actually measuring the presence or state of objects. This convergence, allied with the multiplicity of data sources within and outside an enterprise will allow management software of the future to react to parameters which previously could not be detected.
We already see some of this in the guise of Big Data Analytics, but in the very near future, this kind of analytics will need to be applied to an entire manufacturing process, to an entire business planning environment. To be successful, we need to make sure our Operations managers, our IT systems, and our technical planners are all working at the same pace and in the same direction.
