    Fail to Prepare, Prepare to Fail : Litmus – providing IoT testbeds to prepare new products for new markets.

    Presentation Synopsis:

    Litmus is a service provided by the Nimbus Centre, Cork Institute of Technology, where new products and services can be tested in a number of testbed environments.

    Litmus testbeds include access to numerous Energy related infrastructure on the CIT campus, water and sewage treatment infrastructure in collaboration with Cork County and City Councils, and the Urban and Rural Community Testbed based in Mallow Town and surrounding region.

    Brian joined Nimbus in July 2013 as programme manager for the Mallow Systems Innovation Centre. This sees Brian working closely with Mallow, North Cork and Blackwater Valley based Industry, educational institutions and academia. The Innovation Centre has become pivotal to rolling out Internet of Things – Small Smart City demonstrators and pilots in Mallow Town and beyond, while also affording companies in this hub location an opportunity to engage with a research and innovation centre to bring their ideas to reality. Recently Brian has become the programme manager for Litmus, a technology trialling centre that tests, trials and demonstrates IoT applications, products and services. Litmus encompasses three test-bed areas: Energy; Water; Community.
